Happy New Years!!! Sorry for the late post but January was a hectic month. I honestly have a love hate relationship with January, I love that it's a "fresh start" after winter break and a hate relationship due to the fact that I normally the first month of the year stressing over midterms. I could complain forever on how much midterm/ finals week is such a humbling experience (especially AP Calculus), but I have 4 more years of taking midterms, so I'll have to accept it. Anyways, New Years resolutions are not my forte, setting goals that I won't forget by the end of the month is something I hope to achieve. Along with that I hope to write in my journal more, since I told my self that two weeks ago and it has yet to happen.
Aside with being drowned in books for midterms, I've discovered my new found love for The Great British Baking Show. The accents, British banter, and the unmatched construction of many treats is something I could watch all day. Also, over the past three months I have been binge watching Blacklist (I am currently watching it as I'm typing this) and the tactics of Raymond Reddington have yet to fail in sparking annoyance. Sex & the City is another show I've dived into. This show definitely tested the lines of feminism along with bringing me through the various sexual and everyday experiences of women. While representing the archetypes of women, I've been introduced to an absurd amount of strange men that you could be passing while walking on the side walks of Manhattan, a man that only sleeps (and records) models, the infamous Mr. Big, one whose expects something in return for the bare minimum, and the fragile egos. I hope to make a blog post of all that revolves around Sex & the City along with why Samantha is my favorite character.
The scented smell of wax coming from a burning candle has become my new oxygen. It has always and shall continue to get my through my days. Sitting in the dark, surrounded my fairy lights and the sunset orange of a candle while reading, or studying transports me to another world.
Aside from my college decision lets lurking in the shadows waiting for me to make a decision and the nonstop slipping while I walked in the snow, this month was made enjoyable through the few novels I've read, ice skating trips, and my new obsession for playing sims (although my characters utilities keep getting shut off).
I wish for this year to be full of achievements and new learning experiences. Here are some images I'd like to share that close resembled a burning candle in late December and January.
